NEW YORK (AP) -- U.S. stocks are falling again as finance chiefs from the world's wealthiest countries hold an emergency conference call to try to find a solution for Europe's debt crisis.

Stock futures suggested a higher open Tuesday, but the major indexes on Wall Street are all down slightly in the opening minutes.

The Dow Jones industrial average is down 14 points to 12,087. The Standard & Poor's 500 is down three to 1,276. The Nasdaq composite is down four to 2,756.

Chesapeake Energy is up 2 percent, a day after activist investor Carl Icahn engineered a shakeup on the board of directors.

European markets are mixed. Stocks in Greece are down nearly 6 percent and Germany less than 1 percent. Stocks in France and Spain are higher.
